The GWOT Collection

This is your official hub for information about Kitfox's GWOT Collection!

We are super stoked about this project. After a successful launch of our Vietnam Collection last summer, we felt it was only proper that our next collection honor our friends and family who served during the Global War on Terror. We know this is a ginormous undertaking, representing a twenty year long international effort is no small task.

Towards the end of December 2021 we announced a survey that we initiated to help collect inspiration from our friends and followers who were deployed over the last two decades. Sketching for final product development began over the last few weeks and will continue through the end of February.

To stay up to date on this collection, please sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of this post. You'll get regular updates and some behind the scenes secret updates that the main list won't be receiving. We'll also be sending out a $10 off coupon code/link to folks on the GWOT collection list at launch. (To receive this offer at launch, you must sign up through THIS form, even if you already receive our emails.)

Release Information!

The Global War on Terror Collection will be available for pre-order Friday May 6th at 9am Central and will stay open through Monday May 16th at 11:59ish PM Central.

Our blankets are woven, not printed. The final size of the throw will be roughly 54"x72" - they perfect for naps on the sofa, and the queen is roughly 62"x84" - perfect for taller folks, sharing, or using on your bed.

Woven in a small family-owned mill located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. These blankets are made on European Jacquard looms with roughly eight miles of American made 100% Cotton yarn.

There is an estimated 6-8 week lead time (but just like the Vietnam Throw, it might be shorter) depending on the quantity of blankets ordered. Should we surpass the expected quantity somehow, we'll update this blog post AND the pre-order confirmation check box at checkout with current lead times.

What else is in the collection?

Well, I'm glad you asked!
Releasing alongside the blanket will be three pet items. I couldn't help it after the influx of dog and cat photos I received when Vietnam Throws began arriving to customers.

MRE Dog Poop Bags - Package of 10 rolls of 15 bags, and a low-key holder so they can be easily attached to your leash or diaper bag (yes, you can dispose of your diapers in these, too.)

Poppy Cat-Nip Cat Toy - you read that right. We're only doing a short run of these, but there should be plenty for all of our kitty friends.

"Shred-It" Energy Crinkle Dog Toy - Stuffed with crinkle paper, and a surefire "zoomie-fuel" for your doggy companions.

We'll also have some stickers, patches and pins in the collection as well. Check back to see previews of these items.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What size will the GWOT Throw be?
As mentioned above, it will be offered in a throw size (54x72") as well as a queen size (62x84")

Will you be bringing the Vietnam Throw back during GWOT launch?

We've had a TON of you ask about the Vietnam Throw and if it will come back - the answer is YES! It will be back in the standard 54x72" throw size, as well as the new QUEEN size measuring roughly 62x84"

How long will we have to wait after ordering?
At the moment we are planning for a 10 day pre-order window, once pre-orders close we will finalize quantities with our manufacturer and they expect between 6-8 weeks to complete our order. Please remember we are a very small company, and while we are very efficient, shipping once we receive the blankets could take up to a week to complete.

Will there be order limits?
No, this is one of the main reasons we are continuing to utilize this pre-order concept again. It worked out very well last time and we were able to make a lot more people happy than if we had ordered the comparatively low number we were expecting..

Will you be shipping worldwide?
Yes. The majority of the world will have UPS, DHL, and USPS options at checkout. Australia, Russia, and Ukraine are still seeing issues with delivery with USPS so if you live in one of these places please select UPS or DHL.
Please only use the local pickup if you live in the Iron Mountain area.
